Editor Colin Farmery and designer Ellis Hampton are going to unveil how the critically-acclaimed 'Official History of Portsmouth Football Club' was produced at a special Pompey History Society talk at Fratton Park on Monday, March 25.

The book sold out its limited 1,898 print run in just a couple of weeks last autumn and the 424-page tome is now widely accepted  as the definitive history of the club.

Ellis and Colin will be in conversation with Chris Perry – one of the club’s creative writers in residence for the 125th anniversary season – in the Warrior Lounge between 7pm and 9pm.

There will also be a Q&A session, while Colin will be revealing more details of a revised and updated paperback version of the book, which is scheduled to be published in August.

The event is free for members of the Pompey History Society and £6 for non-members. Membership of the society can be purchased on the night for £10.

The society is a registered charity with the twin remits of preserving the club’s archive and sharing it with the wider public.
